The Location-Based Services Market [INFOGRAPHIC]
The infographic you’re about to see shows the pros and cons of each location-based services. Unsurprising,Foursquare is the one that is leading on every front (except for their modest 1 million user base).
Business wise, it is forecast that the location-based market is potentially valued at $20 billion, which is mostly made up of marketing services.
Location-based check-ins is found to be significantly higher than web click-through rates, which gives marketers the additional incentive to tap onto this new marketing channel.
In fact, we have already witnessed how Brewerkz, a microbrewery restaurant, has smartly used BuUuk and Foursquare to its advantage. Also, with a little creativity and collaboration, saw a small restaurant successfully gathered over 150 customers in a single event. All these are just some budding examples of successful location-based promotion. Most of which are restaurants, whereby location and search are highly relevant to both consumers and businesses. For others, it remains to be seen how location-based services could be leveraged.
